Our Guest Speaker: Susan Cranston, B.A., CEBS, ISCEBS Fellow, Assistant Vice President Communications, HR and Communications, Manulife Financial.

Ms. Cranston has been in the insurance industry for the past 20 years. In various management roles with three major insurance carriers, she has worked in group disability, group sales, group marketing and most recently in human resources and communications.  Ms. Cranston combines business experience with human resource best practices in her current role as assistant vice president communications for Manulife Financial's Canadian division. Working with various stakeholders, she is accountable for delivery of integrated communications for employees, leaders and executives. Ms. Cranston also oversees the administration of the annual Employee Engagement Survey.

Her academic background includes a bachelor of arts degree and a diploma in business administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. In 1994, she earned her designation as a certified employee benefit specialist and maintains her fellowship status through the International Society of Employee Benefit Specialists. In addition, Ms. Cranston has been a part-time CEBS instructor at the University of Waterloo through their continuing education program and is an Officer on the Governing Council of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists.
