Emerging from Recession: A 'Quick Start' strategy.

By May 11, 2010

As we emerge from the 'Great Recession' of 2008/2009 there are unique opportunities to explore new market and improve productivity

This morning I had the opportunity to lead off a morning of presentations hosted by Corporate Benefit Analysts.  The keynote speaker was Dr. Sherry Cooper, Chief Economist from the Bank of Montreal who delivered an insightful presentation of the economic climate now, and into the future.

My presentation was concerned with some of the themes of her presentation particularly in the areas of Talent Management and Employee Engagement.  My contribution to the discussion was my advocacy of a 'Quick Start' approach to HR management practices as the over-arching framework for talent management, employee engagement, and total rewards compensation.

As we emerge from the recession HR Mgmt practices designed to generate quick results will confer a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining key talent and provide opportunities for market growth and development.

I've attached a copy of my presentation in my briefcase for your reference.

Matthew Simon, HBA CHRP.
