Are you a manufacturer? Do you provide consulting, design or training services? Have you ever written something that has been published in print or on the web?
If you said yes to any of these questions, you could be leaving your business and yourself vulnerable to a devastating claim. That’s because your commercial general liability policy will not protect you if you are sued by a third party for a financial loss they have suffered as a result of your error or omission when providing a service.
We recommend all of our clients who provide professional services obtain Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance - as well as commercial general liability - to avoid any gaps in coverage.
E&O provides the insured with coverage for claims made as a result of their negligent acts, or errors and omissions in their performance of services to third parties resulting in a financial loss to the third party. It covers the rendering or failure to render professional services.
Why am I bringing this up now? Mainly because we’re in the midst of editing the articles for our upcoming newsletter, the Business Insurance Report, and it will include a feature on E&O.
The newsletter comes out in May, and we would be happy to email you a copy when it’s ready. Simply click here to be added to our email distribution list.
