About

During the past 23 years Scott has worked with corporate, industrial, commercial and not-for-profit sectors with a key objective of creating positive and strategic opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

Going into his thirteenth year with Excellence In Manufacturing Consortium, he has played a key role in helping this not-for-profit organization grow from an 18 member local association into “Canada‘s Largest Manufacturing Consortium”.

As with all EMC team members Scott wears many hats, but primarily focuses on strategic planning, provincial/national member, partner and sponsor program development, communications and operations. He is responsible for the design, development and delivery of manufacturing initiatives for EMC and its members, as well as communications and marketing.

Scott’s recent endeavours include: Design and deployment of EMC’s Energy Initiative - encompassing one of the largest energy buying groups for manufacturers in Canada, as well as strategic efforts in energy best practices, management strategies, conservation and technology; Development of EMC’s Food Sector Initiative, a province-wide network providing peer-to-peer informal learning, advanced manufacturing training and subject matter expertise for Ontario food processors/manufacturers. Development of EMC's regional/provincial/national efforts with the Interactive Manufacturing Innovation Networks (iMiN), contribution to the pilot Manufacturing Innovation Network created in Waterloo Region, as well as the creation of EMC’s own next generation Web 2.0 website and online member networks for industry.

Scott is a recurring speaker on industry and economic issues for the Economic Developers Association of Canada and the University of Waterloo; has held several Board positions with municipal and provincial, economic development and other organizations; and is active in raising awareness/funds for charities.
