Matthew Simon is the principal consultant for Simon & Associates, a general Human Resources management practice located in Waterloo, Ontario. The practice was established in 1995 and provides Human Resources management support and services for a wide variety of clients in the manufacturing, high-technology, non-profit, and service sectors. While generalist in nature, a significant portion of the practice is devoted to issues of planning, compensation, and performance management.

Matthew holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University where he specialized in organizational study and business management. Matthew has also earned the Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRP) designation through the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPAO) in 2000.

Prior to establishing his private practice Matthew’s corporate career included several progressive positions with Sharp Electronics of Canada Ltd., Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc., Union Gas Limited, and Tibbett & Britten Logistics. The diverse range of corporate assignments and 12 years experience with clients has provided him with a deep appreciation of the issues facing businesses and organizations throughout their business cycles.

In addition to the challenges of managing Simon & Associates, Matthew has served in leadership roles on many local professional and community service Boards as part of his committment to the community. Matthew's participation in the Waterloo MIN project is an example of how Simon & Associates is helping grow Waterloo Region's manufacturing economy.

Matthew Simon currently resides in Waterloo with his wife, Katherine and two children Caitlin and Aaron, and his faithful dog Gus.
